This restaurant like most of the Hussar Grills ticks all the boxes for a lively evening out for dinner.

We were totally blown away. We both had the chateaubriand fillets. Wow! Wow! Wow! Tender. Juicy. Incredibly flavourful. AMAZING! Also lovely friendly service. Perfect evening b

Good atmosphere, very good food. The Chateaubriand was our favourite but all of our food was excellent at a fair price. The wine was also good for the price. All the staff were friendly and efficient. A special shout out to Nandi (photo attached) our waitress, who was great.

Great restaurant with traditional decor. Steaks were excellent as was the eland steak - all cooked to perfection. It was my birthday and I ordered crème brûlée for dessert which arrived on a decorated plate with a card - a lovely gesture. However rather strangely they brought me a second crème brûlée as a complimentary birthday offering. Not often I have 2 desserts!

Another memorable visit to the Hussar in Hermanus. Great food, steaks cooked to perfection, ambience is lovely and the service impeccable. Our server, Nandi, was world class…friendly, polite and everything done in perfect timing.

Being South African, I’ve grown up spoiled with some of the best steaks in the country, so my standards are high. For me, the most important things are steak quality, taste, excellent wine, and an upmarket environment without the unnecessary pretence or inflated prices. At The Hussar Grill Hermanus, they delivered in absolute spades. From the moment I walked in, the service was fantastic.Warm, attentive, and effortless. I ordered their 50th Anniversary red wine and a 300g rump steak with monkey gland sauce, served with spinach and pumpkin on the side. The wine was exceptional for the price, so much so that I immediately ordered a second bottle without hesitation. The steak? Perfectly cooked, beautifully tender, and bursting with flavour. Every bite confirmed that this kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing. The balance of flavours, combined with the quality of the cut, left me genuinely impressed. And then came the bill. For the quality of food, wine, and service, the value is outstanding. This wasn’t just a good meal; it was a memorable dining experience that far outclasses anything within a 100km radius. If you love excellent steak, exceptional wine, and impeccable service, look no further. The Hussar Grill Hermanus sets the standard.

Always a great experience

The best experience I’ve ever had, from walking in without a booking, the front of house was excellent, the restaurant was full, but she was determined to make a plan, which she did I’m sorry but I didn’t get her name. We were seated upstairs and our waiter was excellent, Ossy professional and on the ball. The food was quick and was absolutely delicious, so much so we’re coming back tomorrow night for another meal, well done on a superb restaurant, the best in Hermanus.

had my birthday party at Hussar Grill Hermanus today. excellent and friendly service from start to finish. received a very warm welcome when we arrived, as well as a friendly goodbye. best steak and desert. a big thank you to owners and staff...you are tops!

Good service from Yvonne and food was good. I did request medium well, and got medium, but it was edible. The Manger followed up with every guest as well.
