My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Hussar Grill George this week. Everything about our experience was great. Very professional and welcoming staff; our table was ready and saved for us and the food was absolutely delicious. The Italian tomato soup starter was very very good and the black mushroom starter with spinach and feta was also delicious. Best of all was our main meals - fillet for me and tenderloin for my husband. Mine was cooked to perfection even though I like it medium well - came out perfectly! Flavour and taste wonderful . My husband’s steak needed a bit more grilling for one half of it (medium request) which the cook readily did and then apologized for not having it perfect the first time. It was also delicious with mushroom sauce. The spinach and butternut veggie side was soooo good! In addition, after our meal our waitress brought us a pretty place decorated with “happy anniversary” as well as two lovely after dinner drinks - such a nice and appreciated touch of terrific service. We took our own wine and champagne as we wanted non-alcoholic and our waitress happily brought us champagne glasses and an ice bucket. All together a memorable experience and special for our special day. We will definitely be returning. Our experience at The Hussar Grill George was 1000+ % better than our experience at The Hussar Grill at Montecasino Joburg two years ago.

Went in Friday evening with some friends. Very happy to see they sell Outeniqua Brewing Company beers now as well. Always a great meal with familiar faces.

Super disappointed with welcoming! My husband and I, celebrating our first year wedding anniversary, decided to try out date night at your establishment. We were barely welcomed and shown to our table, sat for 20 minutes with few waitresses walking past our table. Another couple walked in, seated in a friendly manner and immediately received their drinks. Us? We still sat, waiting until we opted to walk out past at least 5 waitresses having a fat chat at the door (by the way, we were seated close to the door- so in plain view), no one stopped us UNTIL we were almost at our car. A manager sighed heavily, apologizing and giving a poor excuse as to our waitress flagging us then going to the bathroom and forgetting about us completely until they realized we weren't stepping out for a smoke. We will never return. Service is poor with meaning behind it as both of us are in the industry, too.
